In which I concede that Sigourney Weaver is OK

I never really cared for Sigourney Weaver, despite the fact that she stars in several of my favourite movies - Alien/s, Ghostbusters & Avatar.  I don't know why, she always just seemed wooden to me (maybe I just don't recognise a stoic heroine when I see one).  Now, doubtless influenced by Cameron and his obsession with all things marine, she is going to Washington to advocate for urgent action regarding that other great impact of global warming: chest bursting aliens, giant ghost dog gargoyles of Gozer, ten foot blue people of Pandora, ocean acidifcation.

Good on ya 'Gourney, you're OK!

Hey Jason,

I really like Randy's book "Don't be such a Scientist"; which I guess set the stage for the Benshi. In fact, DBSAS (and Flock of Dodos before it) was a big part of the motivation for starting this blog.

In that Fox interview, I think Weaver comes across a bit austere at the beginning, but she certainly takes control from the outset, and leaves it to the Fox anchors to show themselves up as shallow by the end. I think she came out looking great. Was that what you were thinking or did you just mean that she's been talking acidification for a while now?
